Es una de las rutas más bonitas y espectaculares de nuestro término municipal, nos encontraremos con unos paredones de dimensiones extraordinarias, pero no tanto por sus dimensiones, sino por la magnitud de su grandeza visual, paredones descarnados por la erosión de los elementos han labrados, como si de castillos se tratara, un paisaje tan mágico que parece que, las mismísimas hadas fueran a aparecer, son las Cárcavas del Perales, todas ellas rodeadas de profusa decoración de ribera donde encontramos álamos, fresnos, sauces, juncos, cañizos, espadañas a la vez que una profusa población piscícola de especies endémicas como el cacho, el calandino y la pardilla. ¡Esta última especie, sólo se encuentra en este río en toda la Comunidad de Madrid!

Es un paisaje que en las tardes de otoño invita a pasear, contemplar, oler, oír, tocar y si las ninfas acompañan...a escribir hermosos poemas que evoquen tiempo pasados.

Partiremos desde la gasolinera de Repsol de Colmenar del Arroyo, para dirigirnos a la siguiente rotonda dirección Madrid. Allí, veremos un cartel que pone Camino, tomaremos la derecha, siguiendo el camino hasta que veamos la estación de servicio a nuestra derecha, buscaremos el camino de nuestro recorrido a mano derecha, es el Camino de las Esperillas, desde donde seguiremos hasta la Avd. Polideportivo, de allí, siempre buscando nuestra izquierda, seguiremos hasta llegar a una bifurcación que girando ligeramente a la izquierda enlaza con C/ Cuquillera, por esta zona veremos el Rio Perales a nuestra derecha, si seguimos su margen hacia la derecha llegaremos a las Cárcavas Del Rio Perales.

Después de disfrutar de este verdadero paraíso natural, volveremos sobre nuestros pasos, para proseguir nuestra ruta por la calle anterior, hacia la derecha. Hasta que encontremos un camino ancho a nuestra izquierda que nos llevará de nuevo a la C/ Ángel Martín, desde donde volveremos a nuestro punto de inicio.

Para ir hasta el vecino pueblo de Villamantilla en la citada bifurcación nos dirigiremos a la derecha, cruzaremos el rio y seguiremos el camino hasta llegar a su Polígono Industrial.

The Rio Perales is one of the best-preserved rivers in the Community of Madrid and if we walk along it we find large and gaunt walls, which erosion has carved as if they were castles in ruins and what geologists call; "The fairy chimneys".

A supernatural landscape of red walls where species such as; the Mallards, or the European Galapagos and in the areas of Mediterranean forests of dense holm oak and pasture, populations of Black Vultures and Imperial Eagles and an important fish population of endemic species such as the Chub or the Pardilla. This last species is only found in this river in the entire Community of Madrid!

We will leave from the Repsol gas station in Colmenar del Arroyo, to go to the next roundabout towards Madrid. There, we will see a sign that says Camino, we will take the right, following the path until we see the service station on our right, we will look for the path of our journey on the right, it is the Camino de las Esperillas, from where we will continue to Avd . Sports center, from there, always looking to our left, we will continue until we reach a fork that, turning slightly to the left, connects with C / Cuquillera, in this area we will see the Perales River on our right, if we follow its margin to the right we will arrive at Cárcavas Del Rio Perales.

After enjoying this true natural paradise, we will retrace our steps, to continue our route along the previous street, to the right. Until we find a wide path to our left that will lead us back to the C / Ángel Martín, from where we will return to our starting point.

To go to the neighboring town of Villamantilla at the aforementioned fork we will go right, cross the river and follow the path until we reach its Industrial Estate.
