The main exhibition of artistic heritage in Colmenar del Arroyo is the Parish Church of the Assumption of Our Lady, located in front of the City Hall, and declared a Site of Cultural Interest by the Community of Madrid.

Of Renaissance style, it is believed that it could have been built between the years 1589 to 1615 and is attributed to Juan de Herrera, architect of the nearby Monastery of El Escorial.

When the town moved to the place it occupies today, the old Church of San Vicente was far away and was almost in ruins. The neighbors then agreed to send the Archbishop of Toledo a letter requesting a license to build a new church. The Archbishop, having seen the report, grants license to make the present Church on March 1, 1539. The Blessed Sacrament was transferred on December 8, 1615.

Built with ashlar masonry and reinforced with buttresses in some points, it is low in the Renaissance style. It has a rectangular nave and a tower with three decreasing bodies approximately 20 meters high.

In the Church its coffered ceiling stands out, a baroque altarpiece, such as that of La Dolorosa. several sculptures carved in wood, such as that of San Vicente, which may belong to the 13th or 14th century, and the baptismal font from the 17th century.
